Life can literally change or end in the blink of an eye. In many situations, horrific tragedies, such as car accidents, will leave victims or surviving families forever changed through injuries or untimely deaths. One recent California car crash has left a young child to grow up without her mother and father.
California Highway Patrol officers were summoned to the scene of a crash involving a motorcycle and a passenger car. According to the preliminary investigation, a 17-year-old female was driving a car along Highway 50 when, for unknown reasons, she lost control of the vehicle. Officers stated that the vehicle started to spin and swerved across several lanes of traffic before coming to a stop. An oncoming motorcycle was unable to avoid the stalled car in time to prevent a collision.
The motorcycle struck the vehicle broadside. The impact killed the two passengers aboard the smaller vehicle. Police are still investigating the cause behind why the motorist lost control of her car. At this time, it is not believed that intoxicating substances were involved.
California officials are still working to close their investigation. There have been no charges filed in connection with this fatal crash. Sadly, the young couple killed in the crash were the parents of a 4-year-old child who no longer has her parents to raise her. Whenever these types of tragic car accidents occur, the families left behind must struggle with their grief and physical loss as well as the financial losses that typically follow these events. Surviving families may have grounds for seeking just compensation through the civil justice system if such accidents can be attributed to negligent actions of another party.
