Negligent driving behaviors often cause serious car accidents

Not everyone who gets behind the wheel will exercise courtesy and respect for the safety of others. Sadly, there are many negligent behaviors than can lead to serious car accidents. California police stated that charges are pending in one fatal crash linked to street racing.

One a recent Friday evening, police reported to the scene of a horrific traffic accident. According to eyewitnesses and responding officers, two drivers were reportedly engaged in a street race while in the midst of other motorists. The suspected drivers, who were both driving Dodge Chargers, were traveling at a high rate of speed down a local roadway. Unfortunately, another motorist was attempting to complete a left-hand turn when her car was struck by one of the Chargers. The driver of the other racing vehicle did not stop.

The two occupants to the struck vehicle, the female driver and a male passenger, both in their 50s, died at the scene. The 25-year-old female driver of the racing car and another female passenger suffered serious injuries and were transported for medical care. A third passenger, a male, suffered less serious injuries and was treated and released from care. California officials are still seeking the driver of the other Charger.

The woman believed to have struck the victims’ car will be arrested and charged with murder as soon as she is discharged from the hospital. Police said the driver displayed a total lack of regard for the lives of others by her actions. Victims of these type of tragic car accidents leave behind grieving loved ones who may also bear the burdens created by monetary damages that tend to accumulate after a fatal crash. Though no legal actions can relieve the anguish survivors experience, it may be possible to alleviate the pressures imposed by financial damages through successfully navigated civil lawsuits against the parties deemed liable for these senseless deaths.
